A consistent effort placed her in P23 which is where she was set to start in Race 1, while starting in P24 in Race 2 where position is determined by the second fastest lap time.
With an even larger grid than in 2025, composed of 29 drivers with a mix of both returning and brand new drivers, the tension was at a high as the lights went out and qualifying commenced.
First race of the season
Due to penalties Holly started Race 1 in P22. With a bit of commotion up front, Holly held her own working herself up to a P19 finish.
Sundays racing
The second race of the season was a truncated one with final results being returned to the final completed lap of the race which was Lap 4. The first safety car came out after Lap 1 due to multiple incidents with only a short return to racing before a second safety car ultimately led to the early conclusion of the race.
After the first safety car ended, Holly made contact with Fox Motorsports’ Enzo Rujugiro ending the race early in the gravel, but was fortunately uninjured with minimal damage to the car.
Starting the reverse grid race in P23, Holly navigated the busy back of the pack. An incident resulted in her going off into the gravel again and ending the race early. A precautionary visit to the hospital fortunately gave her the all clear.
A challenging weekend for Holly with two DNFs but also a positive result in Race 1 where she was able to claim some positions and finish in the top 20.
Holly said of the weekend: “A challenging first weekend. It stings, but that’s racing and I’ll be focussing on learning what went wrong and improving from there. I’m very grateful to my team for the support and will come back stronger next time.”
The second round of the GB4 Championship will take place on May 20th-25th at Oulton Park.
