Qualifying
As the temperatures continued to rise in the late morning, Holly took to the Snetterton 300 course for the qualifying session on Saturday. With all 24 cars starting on slick tyres, the conditions were a stark contrast to the downpours at Oulton Park last time out. Miall got a quick start, recording some of the fastest opening laps among the GB4 field. The Fox Motorsport drivers fastest time came towards the back end of the 15 minute session, with a 1:50.566- second lap placing her in P22 for race one, and P23 for race two and three.
Race 1
In Saturday’s afternoon race, Holly made an impressive start by gaining 2 places from the starting grid, completing the first lap in P19. In a field of fierce competition, Holly came under pressure towards the half way mark of race one, but managed to record her fastest lap time towards the end of the race with a 1:51.22. As she reached the chequered flag after 10 laps of racing, Miall sat in P22, retaining her starting position from the grid.
Race 2
With the grid for the second race of round four being determined by the 2nd fastest lap time from the qualifying session, Holly started in P23 on Sunday morning. Again, an impressive start from Miall saw her leap frog the drivers in front of her, and she came down the Senna Straight in P18 after lap one. Frustratingly for Holly, after carefully navigating an eventful opening few laps, the Fox Motorsport Tatuus MSV GB4-025 encountered a gear box difficulty which saw her race brought to an early finish.
Race 3
As the clouds rolled over the Snetterton circuit, temperatures slowly dropped off ahead of race three where Holly started from P23 again. Due to a track caution in the formation lap, the race was delayed and shortened to 16 minutes rather than the scheduled 18. Once the lights eventually went out and the cars were away, a hectic opening lap left Holly up in P18, as she skilfully manoeuvred past several track cautions before the safety car was brought out. The safety car then remained at the front of the field for a long while, leaving just over 4 minutes of racing to go once the drivers were shown the green flag. A challenging couple of closing laps saw Holly finish the final race of the weekend in P20.
Holly’s weekend reflection “It was a very challenging weekend at Snetterton for me. I worked hard to stay focused and hydrated in the hot weather, and obviously some of the races didn’t go the way I wanted them to. There’s plenty of things to take from round four which I will be working on for the next two weeks with my team, and I’m looking forward to racing at Silverstone again in August. See you there!”
