BKC Round 5 Rissington

Saturday Practice

Saturday practice gave us rain for the whole day. Being our first time at the track, the first session was all about learning our way round and understanding the race line as we had missed out on a track walk. By lunchtime, we were showing some good pace in the wet and setting some fastest laps. By the last session, the sun was out and we were looking forward to some dry practice. Then, whilst in parc ferme, the rain came again and we just had enough time to change tyres but nothing else! It was a good session though and we topped the timetable for the session. Got to be happy with that!

Race day and the sun was finally shining and the track dry. First practice went well and so we went on to qualifying. We had good pace and were fighting for pole, finally qualifying 3rd – missing out by under 2 tenths on the last lap.

Heat 1

We started well and were battling for second on the first lap. Lap 3 saw a racing incident and we ended up facing the wrong way which unfortunately dropped us to 11th.

Staring 11th we had a lot to do but after a good start worked our way upto 6th which is where we would start for the final.

We had a great start and jostled for position the whole 12mins of the race, finally finishing a very credible 4th after the incident in Heat 1.

Overall, a positive weekend showing some good pace and most importantly of all learning all the time.
